This chardonnay comes out singing, straw yellow in color with silver-green edges. There are pronounced aromatic notes of curry leaf, candied lemon, white citrus flower, wet hay and spicy oak. While generous in terms of flavor, structure and juiciness, the wine is also mysterious and lean. The lemon lime notes are offset beautifully by subtle hints of spice—all held in check by a pleasant level of acidity. And just when you think it’s come and gone, the lovely minerality persists well past the finish, leaving you wanting more.
Exceptionally focused, the 2021 Summit Chardonnay is a vibrant, driven wine. Floral notes give way to aromas of oyster shell, flint, candied lemon, and citrus zest. On the palate, bright orange blossoms are offset by a pleasant kiss of sea salt. The wine wears its luminous acidity on its sleeve, fluorescent yellow in color with a lemon-lime acidity. Soft white tannins give way to a juicy finish—with a stony minerality operating just beneath the surface.
