The 2024 vintage of Archer’s Crest opens with vibrant aromas of bright red and blue fruits. Juicy raspberry and strawberry notes greet the nose first, while hints of spice and cedar-kissed blueberry emerge beautifully as the wine unfolds in the glass. Floral and herbal aromas add further complexity, with wild thyme providing notable intensity and depth. On the palate, these same red and blue fruit characteristics shine through. The wine’s acidity and tannins are beautifully integrated, creating energy and structure without overwhelming the fruit. The finish is long and layered, marked by a heady note of spice that invites another sip. This wine pairs beautifully with a wide variety of dishes. Its balance of tannin and acidity allows it to stand up to red meats and even certain game meats. Cornish hen served with a Dijon mustard sauce would be an especially compelling pairing. While the wine is enjoyable now, it also has the structure to reward cellaring for five to ten years.
