This wine rewards patience once in the glass, as it unfurls into an impressive statement on the power and potential of wine from Oregon’s Dundee Hills. Notes of fresh leather and green cardamon emerge, signals of the depth provided by whole clusters used during fermentation. On the palate, those same notes of strawberries and cranberry persist, but here, they are interplanted with hints of thyme and rose. The wine shows support from the French oak used in ageing, framing the wine with gentle yet resolute tannins. These flavors carry on your palate thanks to the French oak and lively acid present in the wine. Pairing this wine is relatively easy, find a moment worth celebrating, no matter what. As for food, the wine would do exceptionally well with a dish of salmon grilled or in a cream sauce. While this wine is rewarding now, it can be aged for 10 years.
