The majority of grapes for Malene Rosé are grown in California’s Santa Barbara County, a multi-faceted growing region moderated by its proximity to the Pacific Ocean. Just as the vineyards of France’s Provence are influenced by the closeness of the Mediterranean Sea, the vines of Santa Barbara County are likewise shaped by the cooling breezes and fogs that sweep in from the Pacific. The 2017 Malene Rosé is reminiscent of the fine Rosés of Provence, both mouth-filling and crisp, dry and complex. With plenty of fruit intensity and a clean, long acid driven finish, this wine will pair well with cuisine ranging from fresh oysters to pasta puttanesca.
In the tradition of the classic French rosés, the Seven Hills Columbia Valley Rosé is delicate and refreshing, pale in color, and bone-dry. Primarily Cabernet Franc, with small amounts of Petit Verdot for additional structure and Malbec for expressive fruitfulness, this wine exhibits flavors of peach, grapefruit, and papaya along with fresh herbs and minerality.
Brilliant watermelon in color, the exuberant Archery Summit Rosé of Pinot Noir tantalizes with aromas of fresh guava, starfruit, blood orange juice and rosewater. The palate is layered with notes of raspberry, grapefruit peel and juicy cranberry with lingering hints of delicate orange blossom. The finish is mouthwatering and refreshing, dancing with hints of cara cara orange, cotton candy and clean minerality.
