Red Hills Vineyard

This hillside vineyard located in the north end of Dundee Hills consists of mature vines that are planted low to the ground so that heat reflected off the earth can accelerate the ripening process. Because the vineyard is comprised of rocky volcanic soils, the vines here struggle for nutrients. As with Grand Cru vineyards in Burgundy, this vineyard is planted narrowly in tight rows—some as close as .85 meters apart. Forcing the vines to compete for sustenance begets intensely concentrated and highly fragrant wines that are lush, powerful and age-worthy.

Wine Profile

Red Hills Vineyard Pinot Noir is characteristically more masculine and “serious” than some of our other wines. Some of its classic hallmarks are pronounced blackberry and black cherry flavors, spice notes, savory nuances of bacon and a long satisfying finish.
