The 2007 Looney Vineyard Pinot Noir opens with a profusion of black plum, blackberry and red currant. There is spice box and rosewood here along with a lift of lilac and grapey confection reminiscent of purple saltwater taffy. The palate is concentrated and layered with a depth of tannin and texture that delivers weight and compelling fruit with power and preciosity. Here blue raspberry meets pluot with vanilla bean and cherry skin juiciness. The finish resonates with texture and confection.
