The 2007 Renegade Ridge Estate Pinot Noir opens with lifted aromas of candied red currant, mountain huckleberry, dried apricot and crushed rose petals.  On the palate, a vibrant mix of fresh berry, wet stone, peppercorn and floral flavors are supported by supple tannins, bringing balance to this contained and focused wine.  The elegant finish lingers with deeper notes of dark cherry, cocoa powder and orange zest.  This wine is ready to be enjoyed now but may also improve with proper cellaring over the next 3 to 8 years.

"Vivid red. Spicy, finely etched red currant, raspberry and cherry aromas are deepened by sexy cola and anise notes.  Medium-bodied flavors of red fruits and candied flowers are braced by a subtle mineral quality and gain sweetness with air.  A deeper black raspberry note builds on the finish, which is invitingly sweet and nicely persistent."  (Stephen Tanzer's International Wine Cellar)
