"No. 1 Wine in Oregon" ("Oregon's 50 Best Wines")
"...this wine embodies the phrase 'a steel fish in a velvet glove.' Remarkably balanced for a high-alcohol wine, it possesses tart cherry flavors, mouthwatering tannins, and a power restrained by elegance."

"Deep, vibrant red. Exotically perfumed aromas of red and black fruit compote, smoky Indian spices and mocha, with a mounting floral quality. Coats the palate with sweet black raspberry and mulberry flavors, with velvety tannins adding support. A big, rich Pinot that manages to retain energy and focus, finishing with sappy, dark berry flavors and excellent persistence. You could drink this now, without guilt."

"One of the signature aspects of this vineyard is the very high-density planting, which is the Burgundian equivalent of 12,000 vines/ha, dense even by Cote d'Or standards. A more soil-driven aromatic profile features notably ripe red and blue pinot fruit nuanced by lightly spiced hints that can also be found on the dusty, briar-infused medium full-bodied flavors that coat the mouth with dry extract on the wonderfully long finish. There is good power but also good balance and this should age beautifully. 2012+."

"Firm in structure and generous in flavor, offering tobacco-scented cherry and plum notes, plus hints of nutmeg and coffee. This has all the pieces to come together with time into something special. Best from 2010 through 2016."
