Archery Summit acquired this vineyard on the eastern slope of the same hill that is home to the winery, and since 2004 has been farming the property using biodynamic methods. The exposure takes advantage of morning sun while minimizing the intensity of afternoon heat, causing the berries to have thinner skins and retain more acidity and minerality than in the south-facing sites. The relative coolness means this vineyard is often the last to be picked, which also means the grapes get extra hang time, resulting in greater flavor concentration and optimal ripeness.
