Archery Summit Winery

The rows of Pinot Noir vines surrounding the Archery Summit winery are some of the first vines planted by the winery in 1994, and constitute a wide variety of Pinot Noir clones and rootstock combinations, including some of the region’s earliest plantings of Dijon clones. The vineyard is situated adjacent to the winery on a ridge that overlooks the Willamette Valley. Throughout this south-facing site, vines are planted according to the differences in topography, which means row orientation is variable throughout. Vines are planted 3.5 feet between vines and 6.0 feet between rows, so that density ranges from 2,074 to 4,800 vines per acres. To further the quality of our fruit, yields are kept 2.0 to 2.5 tons per acre.

Wine Profile

Time has proven the wisdom of the original site selection: Archery Summit Estate Pinot Noir is a highly esteemed example of Willamette Valley Pinot Noir. Noted for its length and power, a sense of earth and mushroom often provides the foundation to this wine. Concentrated red and black cherry fruit is frequently accented by notes of cocoa and baking spices, while ample tannin provides a rich texture.
